Edgardo Antonio Chavez-Dinarte, a Nicaraguan native, deserted from the Sandinista military in 1985, went into hiding in the Nicaraguan countryside, and illegally entered the United States in 1989. Chavez-Dinarte, his common-law wife, Rosa Adan-Areas, and their child appeal the Board of Immigration Appeals ("BIA") denial of political asylum and order of deportation. We have jurisdiction pursuant to 8 U.S.C. Â§ 1105(a) and AFFIRM.
